about the ocf

Who are we?
We are a group of students and community members who represent an ancient and timeless Christian faith, the Orthodox Christian Church. We open our doors to anyone who is interested in the preserved truths of the Apostolic Church.
We are headquartered at the University of Virginia in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia.
What do we do?
Besides our weekly meetings that encompass anything and everything related to Orthodoxy (and which include discussion, movies, social time, and more!), we provide rides to church services for students, organize social outings both within the OCF and with other UVa Christian fellowships, provide information about events that may be of interest to Orthodox students, do community outreach and volunteer work, and organize a yearly retreat open to OCF students from all across Virginia.
About our website
On our home page, you'll find up-to-date information about this week's meeting as well as the rideshare to church services.
On the about page, you can read more about us and get in touch if you'd like to learn more!
On the announcements page, you'll find every recent email that's gone out to the OCF as well as important updates on events in the works, activities related to Orthodoxy worth attending, and more.
The alumni news page lets you read all about the great things happening in the lives of current and former OCF members (so you can reach out and say congrats!) and also allows for former OCF members to get back in touch and keep up with other graduates.
In the gallery is a selection of photos from past and recent OCF events. Links may also be found to our social media pages, which give you access to current developments in the OCF and in the lives of its members, as well as more photographs, materials, etc. (Everyone is encouraged to stop by the OCF Facebook page!)
On the recipes page, you'll find a large selection of delicious recipes of all sorts sent in by OCF members, including a sizable number of recipes for fasting-friendly dishes (just scroll down the page and click on the 'vegan' tag)!
Our links page provides the resources to read more about local churches as well as Orthodoxy at large.
Last but not least, our guestbook makes it easy to drop us a line!
